NewGround Coordinator

Part-time, 18 hours/week

Through its NewGround program, Diaconal Ministries Canada (DMC) partners with deacons and churches, offering grants, coaching, and other resources to help them start or grow a local community ministry. Overall, its mission is to help churches build strong connections with their local communities, offering practical and spiritual support to the marginalized and under-served populations.

We are currently seeking a part-time NewGround Coordinator (18 hrs/week) who will provide ongoing development and administration for this vital program. This includes:

  • tracking all details of NewGround partnerships (i.e. applications, expectations, work plans, and progress reports);
  • assisting in tracking and managing all financial aspects of the program; and
  • assisting in all communication and promotion plans including the annual NewGround fundraising campaign.

Consider being a Diaconal Coach

A Diaconal Coach (formerly called a Diaconal Ministry Developer or DMD) serves as an equipper and coach for local diaconates.

Their role is to help deacons grow in their understanding and capacity as leaders, providing coaching, support, encouragement and accountability for diaconates.

They do this by holding workshops and training events, by providing relevant resources, and by connecting deacons and churches to local organizations.

Our network of Diaconal Coaches is one of our most valuable tools to inspire and equip deacons across Canada. Each Coach receives modest remuneration and an expense budget.

Mailroom Volunteer

Do you have a few hours to spare 2-3 times per year?

Diaconal Ministries is looking for volunteers to help with our annual bulk mailings (NewGround Sunday & Fall Mailing to Deacons) which go out to approximately 240 churches across Canada.
